Delegating to the people around you can require uncomfortable, habit-breaking conversations. Finding the right way to bring these topics up can be a little scary because it pushes you to look at where your boundaries are and how you can best honor them.

We want to empower you to have delegation conversations skillfully and with confidence, and we have just the person to help you!

At first glance, delegation seems to be an impersonal, pragmatic practice that really only deals with logistics and to-dos. When we look closer, though, we see that it’s not just about getting things done. It taps into someplace much deeper:  Mindful delegation™ can actually be quite a vulnerable and intimate exercise. It requires self-awareness and a willingness to ask for help. This is not something our culture teaches us. We’re raised to be self-reliant and fiercely independent, even to our detriment. From a young age, we’re taught to push harder for the sake of productivity, being “the best”, and always climbing higher.

Being a go-getter is great but as you know, when you’re perpetually pushing past your limits it can lead to overwhelm and burnout. That’s why part of our mission here at Pursuit is to help you see what you could delegate and be there to pick up the pieces you’re ready to let go of. There are so many things we hang onto that others can help us with every day!

Think of times you’ve felt overwhelmed and have thought to bring in outside support. It can show up as:

  • asking your partner to contribute to household management like meals, cleaning, etc.
  • requesting the assistance of a colleague on a project at work
  • bringing a friend in to help work through a personal challenge

Learning to see these things and delegate them to the people in your life often requires uncomfortable, habit-breaking conversations. Finding the right way to bring these topics up can be a little scary because it also pushes you to look at where your boundaries are and how you can best honor them.

We want to empower you to have these delegation conversations skillfully and with confidence, and we have just the person to help you!
